One of the big advantages of having been to a place a million times before, is that you know exactly what’s going to happen when and where. In this case that enabled me to set up this composition just before the sun actually appeared above the dune line, and shoot a focus stack for the foreground. By the time I had finished with that, the sun had arrived and I shot several exposures for the exposure blend for the background.
